Updates Yo

GASP! Actual progress.

I actually forced myself to get up at 6 am yesterday and work on the short story. I didn't get a whole lot done on it but the fact is that something was done. That's a big victory for me. I'll keep you updated.

On the blog front, I'm trying to get some type of schedule going. Something like Really Bad Poetry Mondays, Scrooge McDuck Wednesdays, Super Happy Fun Picture Time Fridays etc.

Please post your thoughts.

BGB I haven't forgotten you... you will live again only to die another death shortly thereafter.

Wha the?!? BGB is success?

Well kinda...

I hadn't check on the site in weeks. I thought it had no visitors but low and behold I discovered several comment needing moderated in my email spam folder. We've had quite a few visitors who loved the mortal kombat story.

I'm in shock considering I haven't really tried to advertise the site.

The odd thing is all the visitors are from Russia... not that there is anything wrong with that... just found it odd is all.

Oh well visitors are visitors.

UPDATE

Upon further investigation, all of the comments were from the same 3 IP addresses. In other words they were all spam posts. ARRRGGHH filthy russians!

the end of really bad poetry?

I hope you enjoyed the poetry. I had a blast writing it and you probably haven't seen the end of really bad poetry on this blog. It'll probably be back in some form in the coming weeks.

RBP: Clowns

A clown sold me a burger once
and it tasted kinda funny.
I started to grow and grow and
soon I was super sized.

Now I can't stop eating
everyone in sight.
Thank you strange clown,
you sure made one happy meal.

RBP: Whatever a Spider Can

spider-man, spider-man
does whatever a spider can
lays some eggs, shoots web out his butt
and loves eating those flies.
How he married a supermodel, we'll never know

RBP: On the day we said goodbye

On the day we said goodbye
Bruce blubbered like a whale
the images were seared into his brain
of scary rubber nipples on his suit
from the belfry he did fly
No one was there to see his final debut

On the day we said goodbye
He lost her so the tears fail
and were vaporised by his laser sword
he loved her and treated her like a mister
but he set the x-wing coordinates for the sun
if only he had known she was his sister

on the day we said goodbye
down the stairs the children tumbled
under the watchful gaze of the white rabbit
after years of setbacks he had finally won
took a bite of the cereal he did
and realized it didn't taste so fun

on the day we said goodbye
take charge of your life she said
so he took her siblings blanket and did just that
He was sad that she was dead
the dog mocked his sorrow so down he went
and he sat all alone, the kid with the round head

Slice like a ninja, cut like a razor blade

Until I have a chance to write my own bad poetry, I shall entertain you with a choice selection from yesteryear. Ice, ice, baby, indeed.

"... Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly ..."

" ... Dance go rush to the speaker that booms
I'm killing your brain like a poisonous mushroom ..."

"... Jealous 'cause I'm out getting mine
Shay with a guage and Vanilla with a nine ..."

"... Take heed 'cause I'm a lyrical poet ..."

"... 'Cause my style's like a chemical spill ..."

"... If there was a problem, yo -- Ill solve it!
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it. ..."

RBP: The princess has gone missing again

The princess has gone missing again
someone call the plumbers,
wakeup the dinosaur, grab a fireflower
and make sure the monkey is still in his cage

The princess has gone missing again
Tell the boy to grab his sword and shield,
saddle the horse, grab a fairy
and round up the usual suspects

The princess has gone missing again
they've searched every room
slayed every dragon and a dark wizard or two
I fear she may be in another castle

The princess has gone missing again
and no one longer cares
the search party have all returned home
to play some nintendo and get their minds off things

RBP: The Buffet

Pass the butter, I'll take another leg.
These ribs are to die for, what a buffet.
When you are dead and live as a zombie,
there's nothing better than having a school bus buffet.

RBP: The Review

Its too salty, too boring.
he hates it, what a scathing review
There's just no pleasing him
what do I do?

I try a different dish,
but the critic just won't have it.
Try as I might there's just no pleasing
a 2 year old with a picky eating habit

RBP: Glen Rose

Glen rose from the bed
He leviated around uncle Ned
and hit his darn fool head
I think he might be dead

98...99... 100 POSTS!

Wha?

Impossible!

This blog has actually reached 100 posts?

Woo hoo! We did it!

That's amazing. I thought for sure that the blog would be dead by now. But now it survives and it thrives!

Enough dwelling on the past, lets look to the future. Some of you may be wondering what the project for this month is?

Well there's not one :o

I'm taking the month of March to work on the existing projects: the short story, the flash toon, and Brothers Gotta Blog.

Brothers Gotta Blog isn't dead, its just being retooled at the moment. I'm hoping to have it up through the end of the month.

On the Flash Toon front, I'm still in the storyboarding phase. Planning out scenes and how long they are. My wonderful brother bought me a drawpad for the computer so I'm hoping to see some real progress this month.

There hasn't been much progress on the short story. All the details are in my head, I just need to sit down and write it.

You may be asking what's the deal with all of these projects. Well for years I've been saying I'm going to write a story, I'm going to make a cartoon, I'm going to make a website, I'm going to make a movie, I'm going to make a video game, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. I have a notebook sitting at home with about 50 different ideas in it for projects.

Well I'm turning 30 on June 2nd. I've decided that if I'm not actively persuing one of these projects by the time I'm 30 then I never will. In other words, its time to get to work.

I never sat around dreaming that I would be a claims adjuster when I was a child. Its time to chase my real dreams.

I know there is going to be set backs (I'm looking at you, Brothers Gotta Blog) and even failures but I'm confident that I'm on the pathway to successs.

Here's looking to our one year anniversary in October. Hopefully we'll see quite a few projects up and off the ground by then.

Marvel's Turn

In the 90's, DC animation was on fire. Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and the crew created some great cartoons. Batman the Animated Series is thought by many to be the definitive take on Batman. Batman was soon followed by Superman, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Static Shock, Teen Titans, and Justice League Unlimited.

On the other hand Marvel wasn't quite so lucky. Sure we had X-Men and Spiderman but they weren't quite the same quality as what DC was creating. All of that is changing. Marvel has really stepped up their game recently with Spectacular Spider-man, Wolverine and the X-Men, and the direct to dvd Hulk Vs.

Spectacular Spider-Man - From the creator of Gargoyles, Greg Weisman, comes a back to basics approach Spider-man. The show takes Spider-man back to his high school years and shows him just coming into his powers. Spider-man is quite inexperienced and really has to use his brain to defeat his foes. Throw in all the problems that Peter has in his regular life and you have quite the show. Season one is available on DVD. Season two is going to start soon on Disney XD.

Wolverine and the X-men - The latest take on the x-men. I know some of you are sick of Wolverine but give the show a chance. The series sees Wolverine reforming the X-men after the X-men disbanded a year earlier. The group split was caused by an attack that took out Professor Xavier and Jean Grey. Xavier has contacted Wolverine from the future and warns that the Sentinels will rule the future unless Wolverine can reform the X-men and stop them. Wolverine and the X-men airs on NickToons.

Hulk Vs - Hulk Vs is a direct to dvd release from Marvel. The dvd features two movies. The first is Wolverine Vs the Hulk. This is one bloody fight. Broken bones and blood are par for the course. The fight is soon interupted by some unexpected guests. And then things get even more violent. Viewer discretion is advised.

The 2nd feature is Hulk Vs Thor. Basically Loki takes control of the Hulk and storms Asgard during Odin's annual slumber. Thor and all of Asgard take on the Hulk but can Loki really control the Hulk. And more importantly does Bruce Banner want to be saved. Fun stuff, check it out.

I'm looking forward to what Marvel has in store next.

the rest of the story.

Legendary radio pioneer Paul Harvey has died at the age of 90. He was a great man, always entertaining and very talented. I always enjoyed listening to his news broadcasts and heartwarming stories. He'll be missed.

Enjoy Heaven Mr. Harvey. We'll see you on the other side.
